I totally agree with you: this video shows a perfect “Uncanny Valley” effect applied to food. And what’s more: while the UV-effect involves your subconscious (instinctive) reaction (mine was: I just want to vomit right now, watching this), seeing such quantities and rationally thinking of a person eating all this (in less than a week) makes you really feel bad also at a fully conscious level -_-

I definitely took a pause at that part of the video. It is a unit of measure I am totally unfamiliar with. A couple tablespoons of mayo, a cup even, but I have never dealt with mayo in units of jars.

How many people is she planning to feed with that? How many pounds of mac and cheese did she just make?! Wouldn’t a normal person pause before adding an ENTIRE jar of mayonnaise to something…wouldn’t they think “you know what? I’m about to add an ENTIRE jar of maonnaise to a dish…maybe not?” Am I being too harsh?

Hi,

not sure this is the solution you are looking for, but I noticed that, If I just rewrite my original route plus what I want to read from the checkpoint file, it works.

input file:

%chk=pah2.chk
%mem=30MW
# b3lyp/6-31G* opt (maxcyc=100) freq=restart

while my original route was
# b3lyp/6-31G* opt (maxcyc=100) freq

Agree entirely w/ what you have to say about “authenticity” — I make no judgement about the content (or origin) of the tweets at all. If you take a look at my latest maps though, you’ll see that there is some implied meaning. Congressional peers are more likely to link to “authentic” Twitter accounts, and less likely to link to streams of noise — that at least is how it appears. I suspect that Culberson and Abercrombie are central for exactly this reason.

Incidentally — I notice from the Obama twitter stream that best practice is for staffers never to use the first person (smacks of “inauthenticity” to coin a ghastly word.)
