QUICK SITE NOTE

Site — acosta @ 10:00 pm

I am trying to move Vdov into the times with some major updates (mostly coinciding with the release of Wordpress 2.5). Unfortunately I had the old mechanics of the site heavily customized and/or written from scratch, so now that Wordpress is actually capable of doing what it is I want, it’s taking me some time and effort to make the switch. Point being, Vdov will probably look a little weird now and then as I test some stuff out. Don’t worry, all your favorite content is still here (and even backed up, theoretically).

Cheers.

  1. Costa — you should really put wordpress on svn: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing/Updating_WordPress_with_Subversion

This has really helped me trying to manage a ton of blogs. Happy Birthday, also!

  6. added twitter functionality to the site … to those of you who are vdov authors if you have a twitter feed and would like to include it … let me know.

  8. well so far i especially appreciate the integration with jabber/gtalk/whatever, and the per-user update to devices such as jabber or the phone (i don’t use the phone one but the jabber one is convenient.) it sure beats surfing away messages. anyway i’ll add your feed since you are, in fact, an author on vdov.

i’ve also been searching for some mechanism by which to say random things that are worth saying but perhaps aren’t worth a whole blog post, and this is the first thing i’ve come up with. perhaps something else will come up in the future but for now this is it.

  9. I had set out to find something more annoying than blinking text, but with no preview option I am reluctant to try
    Scrolling Marquee…

  10. haha no dice. well i would have put up your twitter but wordpress plugins for this thing suck really bad. either they can’t be multiply applied or they won’t load at all. this is a systemic effect in my wordpress builds that i can’t figure out. its gotten me so angry in the last little bit that i have to put this project down for awhile. seriously, F**K wordpress plugins.
