NEW LOOK, NEW FEEL, WHOLE NEW SET OF LIES
Some of you (ok, let’s be honest, only a few of you) may have noticed a lack of new programming here at vdov.net recently. This is mostly because I and the other writers here have been a) on vacation/traveling or b) working on other projects. Recently myself and Alex Boone (site link in sidebar) finished up a blog design and implementation for Commentary Magazine. You can have a look at the site here. I can’t say it’s 100% done yet but it’s very close if not complete. All this wordpress work for Commentary made me anxious to spruce up my own site. Those of you who know me know that my definition of “spruce up” usually constitutes simplification and streamlining. So that’s what I tried to do. It’s mostly another minimalistic theme I pulled from the net with a few random (but important) tweaks. Enjoy.
just to let everyone know — i’m not actually planning on having ads on my site. i just wanted to try out this whole adsense thing and see how it is. so … i encourage everyone to click through those ads as much as possible.
can we have like one line of color somewhere? color is usually considered an advancement…
anyway, i like the simplicity, but c’mon… a stripe? a bullet or asterisk??
i thought about it. my instinct says no but if you can suggest something that might look good i will certainly consider it.
this is brian…white and black is the new rainbow, duh!
where is the “new set of lies” located? is “i’m not actually planning on having ads on my site” one?
nah it’s just a quote from arrested development. no lies — i really am not planning on having ads at all. i just want to get to 1000 ad impressions to see how this thing works.
I am all for the new look. With the ads and the spare appearance it gives it a certain….. corporate feel. It really makes us look like we are serious.
As far as the lies I think it just helps the corporate image. I also think we should quickly also register http://www.vdovinc.net (the new corporate home of Vdov Inc.)
Commentary loves the look of the blog Costa. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback around the office. You guys did good.
